Cumberland County Teen Arts Festival

Dear Fellow Educators:

I am very happy to once again be your liaison between the schools and the Cumberland County Cultural & Heritage Commission Teen Arts Committee. We are planning another outstanding Teen Arts Festival complete with new workshops and presenters.

The festival will be held on Friday, May 1, 2009. Workshops will be conducted in the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts, The Clay College, and in spacious tents along the riverfront in Captain Joseph Buck Park located on Buck Street just behind the RRCA. This year we will also have a tent set up on Glasstown Plaza. We're hoping to separate efficiently some of the competing sounds of our music and spoken word workshops in particular.

There will be no confusion this year about the professional development certificates. Those of you who work so hard preparing your students, their work, and take the time to bring them to the festival will receive 6 hours of professional development.

I will be emailing you with updates, deadline reminders, and helpful hints for festival day. If you have any questions or concerns that I can help you with please feel free to contact me. I'm here to ease the way and help make this a wonderful experience for everyone involved.

Once again, all forms will be found on line at www.ccculturalheritage.org
All schools must register in advance. The deadline for registration is Friday, March 27, 2009.
There is no charge for participation in the Cumberland County Teen Arts Festival.
There is NO STATE TEEN ARTS FESTIVAL this year.

I'll have lots of things to tell you about in the near future. In the mean time remember:
