Liz Nicklus is an award winning mosaic and mixed media artist who resides in Millville, N.J. She began her artistic career as a traditional oil painter and watercolorist, but later became captivated by the textural possibilities inherent in the art of mosaics. Her work in mosaics, mixed media and assemblage compliment each other in style and content. It often involves the use of non-traditional materials, and she enjoys surprising viewers by pushing the limits of the media she chooses. Her mosaic installations consist of intricate patterns unified by complex color relationships.

Nicklus studied at Stockton State College, the Ridgewood School of Art, Fleisher Art Memorial, with Pat Witt at The Barn Studio of Art in Millville, and with Philadelphia mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar. She was Discover New Jersey Arts featured artist in April 2004. She is past chair and one of the founding members of the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts in Millville, and is on the Board of Directors of the DaVinci Art Alliance in Philadelphia.  Together with Millville artist Carl B. Johnson, she is a partner in the Independent Artist Studios.  She currently teaches mixed media and mosaics throughout Philadelphia and southern New Jersey, and has been a guest instructor at the Studios of Key West in Florida. She also works as an independent curator, and has hosted many ground breaking shows within Millville's fledgling arts district. Her own work can be seen in public and private collections throughout the world.
